It can be very difficult to say goodbye to a furry friend and a pet funeral can offer a public acknowledgement of the pain felt, while marking the beginning of the grieving process. Often a child’s first experience of loss, being able to express their sadness and say ‘goodbye’ helps them begin to understand the fragility of life.
